TheĀ Iberian ribbed newt (Pleurodeles waltl), is Europe’s largest salamander species, and can be found in invernal pools in large parts of southern Spain.

The Iberian ribbed newt (Gallipato in Spanish) is a “near threathened” species, according to theĀ IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
